First published in 1668, this likely pirated edition was published in 1709 with commentary from John Dryden, the author's brother-in-law. Howard and Dryden had a falling out years prior to this publication.

Robert Howard was a long-running member of parliament. As an author, Howard wrote primarily for the stage, although he also wrote some poetry, and two political treatises.

John Dryden was an English poet, literary critic, translator, and playwright. In 1668 Dryden was appointed England's first Poet Laureate and had a prolific output of poetry and plays. Item #795
