Book very good condition. A bit of light scuffing, spotting and creasing, primarily at edges of wrappers, internally fresh. Envelope unused but moderately scuffed, still very good.

A scarce and fantastic souvenir photo book, complete with original mailing envelope, for Deadwood, South Dakota. Its title page suggested that: “All roads lead to Deadwood, the center of good highways in the Black Hills. Drive to the Black Hills in your auto this summer and enjoy these improvements with us.” Nine full page captioned photographic illustrations reveal the “mountain road building” on the “Deadwood-Spearfish Highway, part of [the] Black and Yellow Trail,” the town’s streets and public buildings, a view “On The Way To The Mines” and a montage revealing the “Sportsman’s Paradise.” Also a great map of the Black Hills inside the rear wrapper and a two-page centerfold “Plat Showing Improved Highways Radiating From” the town. The text promotes Deadwood’s “ideal” climate, “first class” tourist accommodations, “progressive spirit” and the Homestake mine, “the greatest gold mine in the world.”
