Juvenile chapbook probably from the mid 19th century. A somewhat violent re-telling of Jack and Jill complete with several beatings from Old Dame Gill. 16 woodcuts.

There are numerous 19th century examples of the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme in a similar small chapbook format. In scrolling through OCLC, we do not find this exact issue. No printer or publisher listed. 13 titles listed on back wrapper. Perhaps an unrecorded variant. Item #2049
