Photo/Scrapbook album measures 10 3/4 x 13 3/4 inches and consists of string tied flexible cork boards with cork title. Hinge consists of book cloth or tape. Black album pages. Boards have three areas of glued tears. Most of the interior pages are complete with several pages with chips or tears to fore edge. Postcards all use photo corners. Photos and ephemera are affixed by tape or glassine tags. Good condition.

Very nice pre-war souvenir photo/scrap book from a 1941 Alaskan cruise on the S.S. Northsea. Collection includes typed annotations for most pages, 51 photo postcards, 9 linen postcards, 9 items of travel ephemera and 7 black and white photos which measure 3.5 x 2.5 inches.

Ports of call and points of interest include Ketchikan, Wrangell, Wrangell Narrows, Petersburg, Juneau, Mendenhall Glacier, Taku Glacier, Lynn Canal, Sitka, and Mt. Edgecumbe.

Ephemera includes a travel brochure of the Inside Passage with many manuscript annotations of their schedule, 6 S.S. North Sea items including the farewell dinner menu, a funky hat and a 36-page booklet on St. Michael's Cathedral in Sitka.

The photos show 5 shipboard images of travelers and tow totem poles in Wrangell.

The S.S. Northsea was wrecked in 1947 on Porter Reef, Shearwater British Columbia and sank sometime in 1968. Item #2132
