Unused collection of 15 divided back photo postcards. Nice clean set. Very light toning. Sharp corners. Very Good Condition.

Pictorial collection of fifteen Shriners floats from their May 7th, 1912, Electrical Parade in Los Angeles. Area newspapers all covered the event which must have been quite the spectacle.

Floats featured numerous anthropomorphic themes including Stork, Fireflies, Fish Balloon, Eagle, Love Bug, Butterflies, Flying Fish, Busy Bee, and my favorite Grasshopper. Other themes include Rocket, Monoplane, Castle in the Air, North Star, Comet and Kite. Each of the floats carried many women Shriners except for the North Star float with men only.

Shriners describe themselves as a fraternity "based on fun, fellowship, and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth", who, to this day, love a good parade. Item #2184
