Stock certificates bound in book with marbled boards with original brown taped spine. Rubbing and general wear to boards. Pastedown label on front reads, "Death Valley Railroad Co Stock Certificate." Binding with several wear holes but still holding. Certificates themselves are unused and in very good to fine condition and all remain bound together. This likely was the only certificate book for the Death Valley Railroad Company with the first 62 certificates either issued or missing. Receipts for stock numbers 90-96 remain bound in back but certificates no longer present. Perhaps we can assume 100 certificates were originally printed?

The Death Valley Railroad was built in 1914 to service a new borax mine at Ryan and connect with the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad at Beatty and the Bullfrog mining district to the south and with Ludlow to the west.

Used Death Valley Railroad Company are rare. Unused certificates show up infrequently on the market.
