Item #2311 [Mormon] Necessity of Revelation Tract

[Mormon] Necessity of Revelation Tract

Liverpool, England: Circa 1908. Necessity of Revelation, n.d., n.p., (but most likely Liverpool). 8 3/4 x 5 5/8 inches, [4pp.]

Four page bifolium tract with previous folds. Mild discoloration to upper left corner. Manuscript address in ink at bottom of page 4. Very good condition.

Tract likely printed at the Millennial Star Office in Liverpool, circa 1908. Fake/Draper notes a ca. 1899 issue (5754) and a ca. 1908 issue (5755). This copy most likely published at the Millennial Star Office with the Millennial Star address on last page.

Typical looking Mormon tract published in Liverpool around the turn of the 19th century and earlier. Anonymously written the tract opens with, "Man's spiritual condition in this life is a lowly one" and goes on to say, "If this work [receiving the "things of the Spirit"] is not performed there is no salvation for him."

Filled with biblical quotes and arguments. Advertisement on last page notes that "The Latter-day Saints meet for public worship at "5 Rosebury Place Newbury" (in manuscript) Sunday Services at 2 and 6 p.m." Tract also states "EVERYONE SHOULD READ THE BOOK OF MORNON" with copies available at the Millennial Star Office in Liverpool.

What is not typical is just how rare this tract is with only BYU, Utah Historical Society and Utah State University holding copies, plus a copy at the Church History library. None in commerce as of November 2025. Item #2311

Price: $195.00
