Clearly a work of love and essential for collectors of Oil Wick Lamps used by miners. Complete with index and introductions.

From the introduction: "From the mid-1800's, MINER'S OIL WICK LAMPS were produced by an unknown number of manufacturers and independent tinsmiths in the United States. Sometimes they were called "Sunshine", or "Spout" lamps, etc., and were made in several sizes and shapes (cap; mule-driver's; surveyor's) depending on their use. Charcoal tin was most often used to fashion MINING LAMPS, but other metals were, sometimes, incorporated. Highly prized by collectors, are lamps made entirely of brass and/or copper. Mining Supply Companies and Hardware Stores across the country had lamps made and stamped with the store's logo. Names, such as "The Jennison Hardware", of Bay City, Mi., or "Miner's Supply Co.", from St. Clair, Pa., can still be found on lamps; although the establishments are no longer in existence."
