Anonymous mining engineer's pocket diary covering March 1932 - Dec. 1933. Records gold assay results, the author visit dozens of mines across California and records expenses, details orders of bucket elevators, piping, and various ore processing mills. Mining activity covers gold, copper & concrete.
Several crude sketches and maps included. Our engineer also describes various mining furnaces and includes a rough sketch of a Beater Mill made by the C.O. Bartlett & Snow Company of Cleveland, Ohio.
Locales noted are all in California and include Calaveras, Keswick, Shasta County, Grass Valley, Nevada City, Colfax and Eureka. Several claims/mines noted are the Gallagher Claim, Plymarble Mine, Schneider Mine, and Mountain Copper Canyon. Item #2723
