"The great volume of work facing me makes my schedule so uncertain...I do not see how I can plan so far in advance to be in St. Louis for the Ambassadors Club meeting next April...."
J. Edgar Hoover first served as the final director of the Bureau of Investigation (BOI) before being appointed as the first director of the newly organized Federal Bureau of Investigation. He served from 1924 to 1972. Item #2729
