Theodore Dreiser (1871-1945) was an American journalist and author whose best-known work, "An American Tragedy" was published in 1925 just prior to this letter. "Liveright" is referring to his long-time publisher Horace Liveright of Boni and Liveright. Wish we knew the backstory of the letter from Mr. Ryder to Dreiser. Item #519
