Alphabetical listing of businesses and individuals and their payments. Approx. 9 x 14 inches. Ledger pages which once were divided by alphabetic tabs (all letters missing except for where they were glued to the pages). The binding is intact, but the spine cover is missing. Each alphabetic section listed the name of the business, address, type of business, date, and the amount of taxes paid. Many Butte businesses and individuals listed. One good example is W. W. Dixon paying taxes in 1896 and 1897. William Wirt Dixon, (1838-1910) was a US Representative from Montana who settled in Butte to practice law in 1881.
