Book rebound in blue cloth with gilt titling to spine, minor scuffing to bottom edge, soiling to all page edges, foxing throughout, deckle edges poorly cut, pages toned particularly to outside edges, former owner's name in pencil. Good condition.

"The first volume concerns James Brooke's exploits in Sarawak from 1838-1842, prior to his meeting with Keppel. Volume two recounts the military exploits of Brooke, Keppel, and Sir Edward Belcher. A geographical description of Borneo is provided including accounts of the Dyaks. Keppel entered the Navy in 1822. His family connections secured him rapid promotion, and he was promoted to Captain in 1837. His long naval career took him to many places including the West and East Indies and Australia."
