Scarce Democratic Ticket for the 1864 presidential election in Illinois. With the Civil War dragging on the Democratic Party nominated Union General George B. McClellan with a slate pushing for a cease fire and negotiated end to the war. Once McClellan achieved his party's nomination, he did an about face and campaigned to continue the war effort.
Abraham Lincoln won the election in a landslide. Item #937
